Ga bilina English Translation The Little Crested Pigeon and The Grass Seeds Page 1 One day a little crested pigeon saw a clump of tall yellow grass and she had an idea. Page 3 So she went to see her friends the hopping mouse, the lizard and the ant-eater. "I am going to gather some grass seeds. Who will help me?" asked the pigeon. "Not I," said the mouse. "Not I," said the lizard. "Not I,"said the ant-eater. Page 4 "Okay, I will gather the grass seeds myself,"said the little crested pigeon. And so she went to gather them. Page 7 Once again the little crested pigeon went to see her friends the hopping mouse, the lizard and the ant-eater. "Hey! I'm going to wash the seeds. Who will help me?" asked the pigeon. "Not I," said the mouse. "Not I," said the lizard. "Not I," said the ant-eater. Page 8 "Then I will wash the seeds myself," said the little crested pigeon. And so she washed the seeds. "Not I," said the mouse. "Not I," said the lizard. "Not I," said the ant-eater. Page 16 "Then I will knead the flour myself," said the little crested pigeon. And she kneaded the flour. Page 19 The hopping mouse, the lizard and the ant-eater could smell the damper cooking. And they crowded around the fire. "I'll help you eat the damper," said the mouse. "I'll help you eat the damper," said the lizard. "I'll help you eat the damper," said the ant-eater. Page 21 The little crested pigeon was very angry with them. Then she had an idea. "My uncle is coming so I will share it with him. I could invite you to eat with me but you didn't help me." And so the little pidgeon and her uncle ate the damper themselves.
