How We Make Damper What we need: flour water billycan firewood matches cardboard What we do First we make the fire. Then we tip the flour into the billycan. Then we put some water into the middie of the flour. Then we mix the flour and water and work it with our fingers. Then we tip the mixture out onto the cardboard. Then we knead the damper and shape it into a round shape. When we finish that we clear the fire and make a circle in the centre of the ashes. We place the damper into the ashes, then cover it over first with ashes then pile the hot coals on top of the ashes. When it is cooked we take the damper from the ashes. When it has cooled a little, then we eat it.
