Abstract This text supports the view that traditional management accounting systems are no longer sufficient in today's competitive environment. The book takes a comprehensive and multidisciplinary look at the design and use of accounting and performance measurement systems within a business context. The book shows that business must establish key success factors to allow managers to see how strategies are or are not leading to achieving organizational goals and objectives. In today's changing business environment managers must ensure that the management accounting system evolves to provide the relevant data for guiding line managers' strategic decisions.
