Abstract RESEARCH AIM
To examine the potential for sustainable local economic development through a case study of a small and isolated settlement dependent on externally driven economic opportunities. This brief is a summary of the case study of Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory of Australia, and the town’s capacity to mobilise its labour force and diversify in response to a range of new economic opportunities and government service sectors.
