Abstract RESEARCH AIM
To examine aspects of the population of Alice Springs which are contributing to housing stresses. This research brief discusses some of the issues surrounding the current housing stresses in Alice Springs. It draws on ABS data and work that has been undertaken by the Territory Growth Planning Unit, Department of Lands and Planning. We examine changes in components of population growth, population projections as well as forecasted dwelling demand for Alice Springs. We also discuss what balanced socially inclusive developments might look like in the context of housing for Alice Springs
