Significance note Bedpan CDU Nursing Museum [Catalogue Number H59] - This is an unusual slipper pan with a handle also acting as a spout, presumably for emptying. The flat end was inserted between the legs or the patient could be rolled onto it. The patient remained lying flat, or semi-flat, rather than sat upright to use it.
