School children undertaking HPE outdoors in the ‘top end’ of the Northern Territory are regularly exposed to an extreme climate of environmental heat and intense humidity, which can cause students to be ‘listless’ or ‘restless’ and voice negative feelings about physical activity.
Dr Brendon Hyndman from Charles Darwin University looks at strategies that could be considered to ensure more comfortable engagement in outdoor HPE, despite such environmental heat.
